Burt Lake State Park is open from April through November. Visitors can enjoy camping, boating, fishing, and 2,000 feet of sandy frontage on Burt Lake. There is one mile of hiking trails at the park (no bikes, horses, or ORV's allowed). There are also many other activities located nearby, such as the Cross In The Woods, snowmobile and cross country skiing trails, golf, and fine dining.

The State Park has over 300 campsites and one mini-cabin. Modern camping is available from May 1st through October 15th (peak season). Features include a boat launch, picnic shelter, sandy beach, four modern toilet/shower buildings, 20 and 30 amp electric service and a sanitation station. Rustic camping is available before and after the peak season with electric service and vault toilets.

The Park offers a mini-cabin which sleeps four people on bunk beds. The cabin has electricity and there is a picnic table, firepit, and electrical outside. The cabin is handicap-accessible and available for rent during the summertime.

Camping at the State Park

Early in the season, the campground is quite empty. A lone camper can be seen in the background through the trees. Later in the season the campground will be full when visitors come to experience all that the Burt Lake State Park and Indian River have to offer.

To get to Burt Lake State Park from I-75, take exit 310 and turn left onto M-68, then another left at the light onto Old 27. The park is 3/4 mile south on the right side. From US-31, turn onto M-68 in Alanson and turn left at the next light onto Old 27. The park is 3/4 mile north on the left side. A motor vehicle permit is required (day and yearly permits available)
