Outdoor Recreation

There is so much to see and do in Indian River! Wildwood offers miles of trails for hiking, biking, or cross country skiing. You'll love the unspoiled forest setting, and all trails are marked. Maps are provided at the Chamber of Commerce. Devoe Beach, located a short walk from the middle of town, offers over 600 feet of sandy beach on the shores of Burt Lake. Be sure to stop by Big Bear Adventures, located across from the State Park. You'll have fun playing Michigan's most challenging 18-hole Adventure Golf Course. With 11 water hazards, it is sure to test the most avid golfer. You'll love playing over and around thundering waterfalls, bubbling streams, and natural rocks - all in a lush, forest setting. When the weather is really hot, try a river trip on the Sturgeon River, the Lower Peninsula's fastest river! You can canoe, kayak, raft, or tube. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you'll have to try the Bungee Trampoline too! Or head over to Indian River Outfitters and try out their archery range, guided canoe trips and hunts, ice shanty rentals, and more.
